After lengthy negotiations between the Squash Federation of Ukraine (FSU) and the World Squash Federation (WSF), we managed to get an official confirmation of the WSF 2018 Ambassador program in our country. Thanks to the titanic efforts of the FSU, our athletes will be able to take part in such an event for the first time on June 23-24, 2018.

Launched in 2011, the international program brings together 2 leading squash players, an international coach and referee to help raise the sport's profile through thematic conferences, exhibition matches, referee and coaching seminars and media presentations.

Armenia and Ukraine will take part in the WSF 2018 Ambassador program. This year the three-time world champion, Egyptian Rami Ashur and the fifth racket, Frenchwoman Camilla Serme will act as ambassadors. They will lead the initiative of the World Squash Federation in Yerevan and Kiev.

Rami Ashur and Camilla Serme, the debutants of the program, will join the Belgian national team coach Ronnie Vlassax and international judge Marko Podgorshek from Slovenia. The WSF 2018 Ambassador program will be held from June 23 to June 24 in Kiev on the territory of the Grand Prix club.

“We are delighted that Rami and Camilla were able to break their busy schedule to join us on this vital annual advertising project.

“The whole team is anxiously looking forward to meeting and interacting with the squash community, sports and media representatives of Armenia and Ukraine,” said WSF CEO Andrew Shelley. “As always, this is an opportunity to help the younger federations develop and promote them.”

Rami Ashur is the winner of 39 PSA World Series titles, including the 2008, 2012 and 2014 World Championships. The 30-year-old Cairn topped the world rankings for 21 months.

The first racket of France and six-time European champion Camille Serme took 2nd place in the world rankings in February 2017 after winning the prestigious tournament of champions in New York.
