World Squash Day 2022: Fundraising for Ukraine!

Organizers of the World Squash Day, in honor of 50 days until the holiday, announced a joint cooperation with interactiveSQUASH.

The 21st birthday of World Squash Day will take place on Saturday 15th October, with several exciting projects planned around the world for every venue with an interactive squash court.

Lee Weeks of interactiveSQUASH UK said: “Squash and technology will go hand in hand to create a unique atmosphere at the open days. The idea behind the project is to raise funds and help squash in Ukraine.

"Our goal is to help Ukraine send a women's team to participate in the World Cup in Egypt in December.

"In several places, such as Crowborough in East Sussex (England), we are looking forward to groups of Ukrainian refugee children to enjoy an open day and try their hand at squash.

"We're confident that the interactive SQUASH experience will help them fall in love with the game."

Alyona Ogonesyan, vice-president of the Squash Federation of Ukraine, said: "The Squash Federation of Ukraine is very grateful to our entire big squash family for their support in such a difficult time, when there is a war in Ukraine.

"It is very important for us to know that we have support. This is an important part of the development of squash, and while we fight the aggressor, it is important for us to know that our players can continue to play and compete in important tournaments."
