Gregory Gaultier: "It's important to see the level that opponents have shown over the years"
In 20 years, Gregory Goltier has grown from a talented and promising young player to one of the most outstanding squash players in the world. Therefore, the confirmation of his 9 championship titles at the European Individual Championship, which is an absolute record since the founding of the competition, and being at the top of the pedestal of the PSA rankings in different periods from 2014 to 2018, and 3 victories in team competitions of the French team. He told us about the European competitions with pleasure in a small flash interview.
- In which championships did you take part?
- I have participated in many European team and individual competitions. I don't even remember how many there were, I first took part when I was 15 or 16 years old.
- What experience did you gain by participating in the European Championships?
- Experience to play and represent your country as best you can. Being able to meet other players from different countries, it is important to see the level that rivals have demonstrated over the years.
- Did you have any interesting events during the European Championships?
- First place at the European Team Championship in Denmark (ETC 1 & 2 2015), we then beat England in the final. This victory was special for me and my team / federation / country. Also, there are always interesting parties after the competition, when everyone has fun and enjoys celebrating together.
