German Junior Open 2020: Christina Begeba took bronze at the Super Series tournament

At the end of February, the international super squash tournament was held in Hamburg. A 12-year-old athlete from Kiev took part in the tournament as part of the Ukrainian team. The best result at the current tournament in Germany is the 1st seeded Christina Begeba.

Squashist held confident victories over rivals from Egypt, Ireland and Denmark in the group classification. In the semifinals, the girl lost to Retaj Abdelkalek [5/8], and at the finish line of the competition she fought with the representative of Poland for the third place. Christina did not concede the bronze medal to her rival. It took her about 30 minutes to win the final match of this competition.

For the second tournament in a row, the athlete takes prizes at the international championship, we recall that at the Slovenian Junior Open 2020 Christina took the honorable 2nd place.

Another prize for Ukraine is occupied by a member of the Ukrainian national team Dmitry Shcherbakov. The third racket of the European rating among boys under 15 years old, the second seeded Shcherbakov ml was in the lead in the first matches, but entering the glass court in the 1/2 finals with the Egyptian Mahmoud Taher lost with a score of 11-5, 11-3, 11-8 and finished fourth a place.

In total, 8 participants from Ukraine performed in Germany. Among other athletes, the most successful games were Timofey Radionov (BU15), the athlete took seventh place.
