Earlier it was reported that the women's national squash team refused to participate in the World Team Championship after statements regarding the presence of representatives of Egypt at a pseudo-referendum organized by Russia in the east and south of our country.

As soon as the world saw the reason for the women's national team's refusal to participate in the World Championship in Cairo, we began to receive comprehensive help from the World Squash Federation and the Embassy of Ukraine in Egypt. Coordinated work and communication at all levels gave us the opportunity to receive an official response from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Egypt in a short period of time, which states the following:

In response to reports spread by some media that Ukraine is not participating in the World Squash Championship, which is to be held in Egypt this December, due to the participation of Egyptian observers in the referendums organized recently in Ukraine, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Abu Zeid, categorically denied that the Egyptian government sent any observers to monitor these referendums.

A spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs says: "Egypt did not send observers to monitor the referendums that were recently organized in Ukraine."

Vice President of the Squash Federation of Ukraine, Alyona Ogonesyan, commented: "In such a difficult time, it is important for all Ukrainians to recognize the integrity of our borders and understand the truth. We understand the importance of the constant competitive process and participation in important tournaments for our athletes. The comprehensive support of our squash community proves that they hear us and are ready to make maximum efforts for the development of squash in Ukraine".

Based on the official evidence from the honorable Mr. Ambassador, the Squash Federation of Ukraine, headed by President Yakov Kutkovskyi, decided to give consent to the re-submission of the application for participation in the World Championship. We came to the conclusion that the women's national team will participate in the World Cup. We express our gratitude to everyone who wanted so much to see our team at the tournament and made efforts to let the world hear the truth.
