World Squash Officiating: an online judge training site
Dear friends and colleagues!
The World Squash Federation (WSF) and the Professional Squash Association (PSA) have worked hard over the past 12 months to create the World Squash Officiating, an online training and assessment site that aims to standardize the qualifications of squash judges around the world.
To increase the level of knowledge of the rules of the game of squash, the WSO launched the resource https://worldsquashofficiating.com.
The official launch of the platform for the European Squash Community took place on 23 June, hosted by world-class judge, Director and Chairman of the WSO Advisory Board Roy Gingell, in conjunction with Chris Knightley.
The platform is designed to educate all squash players who want to improve their knowledge in order to create a world standard in judging and professional development.
The online education and assessment website contains training material:
- a video library of solutions using the latest SquashTV matches
- section of rules with examples of games
- rules section in PDF format
- logical decision making schemes
- templates for score sheets.
Each level is divided into several modules and contains a maximum of useful information related to the rules:
- help in the interpretation of some points
- video library of hundreds of situations for analysis (classified by complexity, with
- examples of various solutions with comments and their interpretation
- training modules for different levels of refereeing, after viewing which, everyone can be tested.
Levels of players and judges trained on the platform
Level 0 - test by basic rules
Level 1 - club
Level 2 - tournament
Level 3 - national
Level 4 - regional
Level 5 - the highest level of the world
It is important to note that WSF and PSA will only use qualified WSO judges for major events, so we strongly encourage all of our current and future officials to register with the WSO: https://worldsquashofficiating.com/register/
