Women's World Team Championship 2022: replacement in the Ukrainian team

These days, the World Squash Federation announced the final list of players for the Women's World Team Championships. Countries from all over the world have chosen the best female squash players to compete in the Cairo Sports Club Madinaty (Egypt).

The championship, which will be held from December 10-16 and will feature 17 teams, is a biennial international tournament where teams of four players from each country compete in best-of-three matches.

This year's World Women's Team Squash Championship will be the debut for Ukraine and Chinese Taipei.

Ukraine will be led by Anastasia Kostyukova, talented juniors Milena Velychko, Darya Vlasenko and Anastasia Krykun will join the team.

Oleksandr Bulgakov, coach of the national team, commented: "Since the dates of the Women's World Team Championship and the U.S. Junior Open Squash Championships crossed paths, Sofia decided to play a junior tournament in America. It is worth noting that she planned the American tournament when she learned that the trip to the world championship was canceled. Then the situation changed and our country decided to participate in the championship, but Sofia could not change her plans."

However, we are very happy to welcome to the team the winner of the Cup of Ukraine among juniors 2022 - Darya Vlasenko.

Oleksandr Bulgakov added: "Replacing Daria completely fits into our paradigm of renewing the national team through the involvement of juniors."

Team captain Anastasia Kostyukova says: “This will be the first time our women's team will compete at the World Championships and I am looking forward to this incredible experience. It is a great honor for me to participate in the event, I will make every effort to represent my country in a worthy way. I am very happy for this opportunity!"
