Draws announced for World Games
The results of the draw and seeding of players for the 2022 World Games, which will be held July 7-17, have been announced, with squash competitions starting on the 13th.
In the men's draw, after the removal of the fourth racket of the world from Peru Diego Elias, the thirteenth racket of the world from France Gregoire Marquet is the first, and the former world number four from Colombia Miguel Rodriguez is the second, the German Rafael Candra and the Frenchman Victor Kruen received 3/4 seeded.
Reigning champion Simon Rosner, who retired from the PSA World Tour in 2020, will return to the world stage and face world No. 70 Hungarian Balazs Farkas on opening day.
In the women's draw, world number 13 from Belgium Tinne Gillis is seeded first, world number 25 from France Melissa Alves is seeded 2, and France's Colin Omar and Anna Sermet from the Czech Republic are seeded 3/4.
The hosts of the tournament will cheer for the top five players: Marina Stefanoni and Gaily Mendez will represent the USA in the women's draw, and Christopher Gordon, Faraz Khan and Shahjahan Khan in the men's draw.

About the male network. The guys will play their first games against fairly strong opponents. Dmitry Shcherbakov will show his skills with a player from France, who occupies the 20th line of the world ranking, and Valery Fedoruk has the second racket of the Swiss national team in his rivals. A young and promising player who improves his position in the world ranking every year.
The girls got sportswomen from Hong Kong and Japan. Asia is now progressing well and showing the whole world that their schools can compete with the leading European and global players.
Coach of the national teams Konstantin Rybalchenko added: "The World Games is an Olympics among non-Olympic sports. With opening and closing ceremonies. Every four years. Games at Glass court with players from all over the world.
“Probably, the dream of every athlete is to be a participant in this event. I am very glad that our players will be able to participate playing with world stars. Our team has the strongest players in the country.
"I would like to note again that this is a great opportunity to see different squash schools from all over the world in one tournament! Lots of players from the top 100 (including players from the top 20)!"
